Your Role

We're looking for a eCommerce Graduate to join our eCommerce team. In this role you'll utilise your analytical skills to monitor the performance and activity on our main channel, 

You'll conduct quantitative data analysis to identify usability pain-points and formulate experiment hypotheses that can optimise our digital products & drive improvement.

If you have a degree in data science, numerical or anything in relation to data and you're passionate about eCommerce and the digital world, this could be the role for you! 

  • Planning & co-ordination of the experimentation roadmap, ensuring successful deployment of A/B, A/Bn & MVT experiments in-line with our product backlog.
  • Contribute to a growing backlog of experimentation initiatives, maintaining, prioritising & analysing the potential impact of hypotheses on the business & our customers.
  • Conduct quantitative data analysis to identify usability pain-points and formulate experiment hypotheses that can optimise our digital products & drive improvement.
  • Determine KPIs for our experimentation efforts, ensuring they are trackable & measurable.
  • Utilise strong analytics skills to monitor the performance of all on-site experimentation, determining key learnings, providing insight on next steps & future iterations.
  • Produce experimentation results decks that clearly articulate experimentation outcomes which can be communicated with stakeholders of all levels.
  • Work closely with our analytics function to develop & maintain automated reports, ensuring accurate, timely reporting with clear visualisations and insight.
  • Opportunities to support with qualitative research to uncover user problems, utilising various VoC tools in conjunction with our on-site UX Lab to understand the why.
  • Monitor the latest trends & movements in the world of UX, experimentation & optimisation.

About the Role

We’re Matalan! You may know us from one of our 232 UK retail stores but over the last year or two, we’ve experienced exceptional digital growth.You’ll join a passionate multi-disciplinary UX team as we strive to create a world-class omni channel shopping experience for over 12 million active online customers.

In this role, you’ll spend your time designing, analysing & reporting on a variety of experiments to inform how we solve some of the biggest challenges in retail. We’re looking for an analytical problem solver, who’s comfortable in the face of big ambiguous omni channel customer problems.

You’ll take full advantage of our purpose-built and state-of-the-art UX lab and remote research tools, working with a dedicated research team to uncover insight and identify user needs.

You’ll be able to shape our digital products and will be comfortable interpreting vast amounts of data, identifying patterns and proposing next steps and iteration plans.

We’re an ambitious and forward thinking team. You’ll be able to use quantitative & qualitative insights to inform the evolution of Matalan’s website & app.

In this role, you will work as part of an established and successful UX Team to deliver best-in-class digital experiences, embodying a test & learn mindset using strong analytical skills to understand how customers respond to changes and using those learnings to develop iteration plans.. 

You’ll work closely alongside a team of UX Designers, Researchers and Experimentation Analysts providing quantitative insights and learnings to help shape the Matalan shopping experience. You’ll be part of a broader cross-functional Agile Delivery Squad where you will work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers and QA Engineers to create the best possible digital experience for our customers.
