About the Role

As part of our continuous investment into early careers, we are very excited to be looking for the next generation of talent in fashion and are recruiting a new apprenticeship role within our Imports team.

Offering a great alternative to college or university, this opportunity is perfect for someone looking to kick-start their career in Imports, without the need for a university degree.

Working in partnership with external training partners, the apprenticeship programme will deliver high quality learning and development to the successful candidate. The apprenticeship programme will see you playing a key role in supporting multiple functions within the Imports / Customs department. Through building & maintaining stakeholder relationships you will carry out various administrative responsibilities, as well as covering relevant areas during peak periods and holidays.
Building and maintaining strong relationships, acting as key contact for your internal and external stakeholders

  • Inputting document data onto relevant systems and performing any validation required, in an accurate and timely manner
  • Responsible for collating and distributing required departmental KPI’s, ensuring this is shared with the right team members at the right time
  • Work independently to receive, record and send various documents onto Matalan systems and key Stakeholders. 
  • Confidently classify product and Input commodity codes into various systems, supporting our buying teams with the daily/weekly updates
  • Support the with Ad hoc project work and administrative activities as required

About You

  • Minimum 5 GCSE grades A-C / 9 – 5 including Maths and English (Predicted Grades will be considered)
  • Strong PC skills
  • Highly organised 
  • Good communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast moving and demanding environment
  • Background within stock control preferable but not essential
