About the Role

We’re looking for a Rewards Strategy Manager to join our Marketing team here at Matalan Head Office. As a Rewards Strategy Manager you will champion the reward card programme, continually improving the proposition, driving enrolment to rewards, engagement with benefits, and programme satisfaction by working closely with key internal stakeholders to evolve and deliver a best in class programme.

  • Own the strategic roadmap for rewards continually evolving the program e.g.: Maximising App engagement, minimizing friction across multiple channels, maximising swipe rate and explore and deliver new angles.
  • Ensure clear and creative execution of the rewards promise.
  • Be responsible for branding execution of rewards across channels.
  • Develop benefits using testing and research to drive engagement, satisfaction and conversion. 
  • Bring a cadence of newness to the programme, keeping a clear and creative execution.
  • Own the commercials around reward execution, ensuring maximum impact at the right investment. 
  • Review and evolve use of markdown to drive improved reward communications.
  • Plan a commercial output from reward data, in terms of partnership leverage or opportunity reach.
  • Chart acquisition into rewards agreeing targets to grow the scheme.
  • Drive a specific reward conversion stream and plot to improve rewards uptake online and in store
  • Work specifically to ensure the store, online and app reward journey into rewards is effective.
  • Work with the Customer Marketing Manager to ensure strong targeting for growth and development of reward customers via the activity in the customer marketing team.
  • Work with the Digital Content Manager to ensure appropriate assets to bring excitement, energy and inspiration to the reward program presentation

  • A strategic planner, happy with challenges in a commercial and cross functional context.
  • Confident team worker with ability to project manage elements of change under pressure
  • Strong appreciation of customer mindset and customer journey – a hyper customer focussed individual
  • A true Retail Marketeer, with cross channel exposure and experience of working with third party agency / partners.
  • Good communication skills and effective peer working.
  • Works across levels and teams with clear presentation and strong numeracy skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and varied priorities, maintaining focus on key aims.
  • Customer centric role, understanding of segmentation and targeting
  • In-Retail marketing excellence, a fast-paced worker with a strong creative eye and commercial vision.
