About The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Retail Marketing & POS Manager to join our Marketing team here at Head Office.

As a Senior Retail Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for creating and delivering the retail marketing strategy including plans to support our new store openings, refresh store activity and national POS output. You will also provide support to the strategic marketing team ensuring national and regional advertising campaigns are delivered effectively, as well as any other supporting all in store activity.  It is key that you have a strong marketing background within a retail environment including POS experience, analytical ability and great organisational skills. 

  • Deliver the POS strategy at a national level working with the POS team to brief, execute and roll out all POS including reactive tactical delivery in line with trading needs
  • Drive the regional marketing strategy through the new and refresh store programmes, briefing all activity to deliver all campaigns and activity in line with the national marketing calendar.
  • Build, deliver and manage new store / refurbished / relocated store marketing and evening programmes.
  • Managing the POS team and a Retail Marketing and POS executive to ensure that the teams are developed, engaged and operating efficiently.  Implement frequent 1-2-1s and seasonal personal development reviews. 
  • Working with the PR, social and digital marketing team to deliver an owned, earned and paid communications plan to support the strategy.
  • Work closely with the media planning team to ensure that the Customer and Store segmentation is fully integrated into the marketing programme.
  • Manage in store radio communication in line with the regional and national marketing plans and to support tactical trading and events.
  • Act as an interface with retail, VM, B&M and central planning teams to ensure all POS strategies are aligned across the business. You will be a central point of communication for the business on all regional and POS activity.
  • Effective management of external agencies to ensure activity is delivered on brief, within budget and to agreed timescales.
  • Translate analysis of the programme into best practise to improve overall return on investment
  • Challenge costs and review processes to ensure optimum value for money.
  • Constant evaluation of process and external suppliers to ensure optimum use of budget and effective delivery.

About You

  • Strong marketing background within a retail environment including POS experience, analytical ability and great organisational skills. 
  • Significant experience in a retail marketing environment (essential).
  • Marketing / Business or related degree (desirable).
  • Strong project management, with excellent time management skills and experience of handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Process driven with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a moving landscape.
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Experience of cost control and budget responsibility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
