About the Role

We are currently looking for an Artworker to join our Marketing Team. As an Artworker you will deliver immaculate print-ready design materials which reflect the Matalan brand.

You will work closely with the Senior Designer to deliver accurate artwork to brief in order to support business areas across print, packaging & digital channels.

  • Deliver artwork from initial creative stages through to final productions, accurately against the brief and within deadlines
  • Implements artwork aligned to company brand guidelines
  • Work with the activity timeline and job management systems to ensure work is completed to deadline.
  • Maintains and develops processes, ensuring effective, productive workflow
  • Regularly review skill sets and new practises, identifying any new advances
  • Implements and helps develop brand guidelines for use across Artwork
  • Regularly review competitor’s activities, keeping up to date with the latest trends & fashions
  • Manage the status of your own jobs
  • Work with Print Services to understand briefing and technical information.
  • Liaise with external printers and acting as a point of contact for the artwork department
  • Flexible to support in other areas as required, such as research and concept development.
  • Mentor Junior team members
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships across the marketing team, wider company, agencies and suppliers.
  • Provide skilled and technically detailed artwork support across all of our channels, including; in-store, marketing and digital formats.
  • Implement and support in developing the brand guidelines and champion brand consistency, reviewing, proofing and meeting the brief requirements.

About You

  • Previous Creative Artworking role ideally with retail / marketing experience with a Graphic Design related degree or equivalent preferred
  • Outstanding work management and organisational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent understanding of typography
  • High degree of personal drive and a commercial awareness
  • High level of technical proficiency in Mac OS and Adobe CC software
  • Creative thinking with a strong understanding of Print, including color correction & colour theory
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with suppliers and company departments
