About the Role

We are currently looking for an eCommerce Trader to join the team here at Matalan Head Office. As an eCommerce Trader you will assist the Trading Manager in the delivery of the departments trading strategy and strive towards hitting all eCommerce KPI’s. You will take ownership of the eCommerce Trade plan ensuring all key customer moments are well covered and executed consistently with Stores.

  • To take ownership of Category and work collaboratively with B&M teams to create the online optimum range to maximise Sales and Profit, using Digital Data to help guide and support B&M with Chanel Planning.
  • Work closely with Stock Placement teams to ensure eCom has the right depth of stock and availability of sizes at any one time.
  • To work closely with the B&M teams to plan Online trading activity, range launches and key product themes ensuring they are executed well Online and across all channels.
  • To attend weekly B&M Trading Meetings and Range Sign Off’s to share Online Insight into performance and Online Customer behaviour.
  • Have a strong level of Commercial awareness.
  • Look for range extension opportunities and eCom exclusive buys by reviewing what customers are searching for Online that we currently do not sell .
  • Working closely with the Traffic team to explore trading opportunities and areas where we can attract new customers.
  • Manage promotions ensuring they are launched in line with go live dates and present on the site and across all channels.
  • Work closely with Merchandising Teams to plan and phase eCom KPI’s by department, Pre-season and In-Season.
  • Manage and optimise Product Recommendation Recipe Strategy.
  • Complete ad-hoc reports and tasks in line with business and department requirements.
  • Work closely with the Stock Placement team communicating site activity plans to ensure sufficient volumes to support.
  • Manage and develop MT4 colleague’s.
  • Deliver measurable improvements to the customer journey. Share results and sales improvements with wider eCom team and B&M.
