About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Marketing team here at Matalan as a Digital Content Co-ordinator on a part time basis. As a Digital Content Co-ordinator you support the marketing executives with the end to end process of planning, creation and deployment of content across  our digital channels including emails, App and  the website.

  • Be seen as a brand ambassador by demonstrating high levels of energy, enthusiasm and confidence in the brand strategy.
  • Ensure the site portrays the brand and contains content in line with the customer moments.
  • Check the TOV ensuring the CTAs and copy is clear for the customer to navigate.
  • Understand the benefits of SEO and implement to all content created whilst identifying areas for improvement to increase traffic to the site working with the Traffic team.
  • Continual research of competitor advertising, activity and promotions, analysing against company activity in order to remain attractive and competitive.
  • Work closely with the Ecomm trading team to drive sales and conversion.
  • Keep up to date with the photo shoot diary to add additional imagery to the intake tracker.
  • Manage the job management system ensuring all jobs and deadlines are updated for all digital jobs.
  • Ensure that all stakeholders have the information they need by putting into place a sufficient communication process.
  • Walk through the website and email customer flow checking links are correct and highlighting any errors and improvements for the final location where the customer will convert.
  • Help support with processes between London and Knowsley offices ensure clear communication and work created shared.
  • Work with the B&M team/designers to obtain product information and head office insight to help build your content.
  • Ensure all internal stakeholders input the relevant information into the online content strategy ensuring that the right messages are communicated at the right time
  • Create a creative brief for each activity adding ideas and recommendations for the design team to implement.
  • Plan content accordingly across devices delivering the best user experience – mobile, desktop, reward card app, reward card portal.
  • Maintain creative packs of event activity to share with the wider business on what we have delivered on digital.
  • Proof read and check creative vs the brief for email, app and website content.

About You

  • Attention to detail
  • Marketing/Ecommerce/Content Marketing/Media/English Language degrees preferred
  • Understanding of online marketing concepts, strategy and best practice.
  • An interest in commerce, popular culture, and new advertising trends and techniques.
  • Naturally enthusiastic and energetic with the ability to drive solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure managing deadlines and priorities.
  • Work well in a team.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated.
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, positive and proactive approach to work.
  • Be an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing.
