This is where the buck stops. As Store Manager, it will be down to you to deliver. The average Matalan store is 30,000 square feet, and you'll need to be in touch with what's going on in all areas - from the stock room to the shop floor. You'll ensure we deliver a seamless service to the customer. A highly visible presence within the store, you'll also take a proactive approach to leading and coaching the team. By making the very most of their talents, you'll help us drive revenue and sales.

Deputy Managers makes things happen. They ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time. They manage our payroll and staff scheduling, as well as our deliveries. All while making sure our stores look visually stunning. Whether they’re in the warehouse or on the shop floor, they’re responsible for leading and inspiring the team. They also work closely with our Administrative Managers to control our costs. Acting as the Store Manager’s trusty right hand, they play a crucial role in the success of the store.

With responsibility for one of our departments (or two, dependent on store), you'll coach your team and drive sales. We'll give you the autonomy to develop your people into the best team on the floor, a team who are as passionate about your area as you are. You'll have a real eye for using every inch of space to create a visually exciting display that will delight our customers and make sure products fly off the shelves and rails.
You'll be the kind of person who can mix creative flair with commercial understanding to increase sales. And no matter what level of success you achieve, you'll always be looking to go one better.
It will fall to you to manage the flow of money to and from the store. This is a crucial role that will see you counting and balancing our tills. By carrying out regular audits, you'll resolve any cash losses and protect our profits. It's a highly responsible position that will see you collaborating closely with management and working with large volumes of cash. As such, you'll need to have bulk cash handling experience.
